Los Angeles, California CA - 1940's HARMONY ARCHTOP GUITAR! No Reserve and Free Shipping! ITEM: For your consideration is this vintage 1940's Harmony archtop acoustic guitar. This guitar, serial number 443525, features a spruce top with a gorgeous nitrocellulose tobacco sunburst finish and split fholes, mahogany back and sides, a mahogany vshaped neck with a rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dot inlays, and original open back tuning machines, 2ply black/white guard, rosewood bridge and steel trapeze tailpiece. This particular guitar is in excellent working condition; all the tuning machines work properly, the neck is straight, the action low, and the sound this thing makes is really something to hear. Full and rich with a banjolike midrange quality, this guitar would make a perfect accompanying or lead instrument in any acoustic ensemble. The Vneck is very comfortable and smooth, making for excellent playability. Cosmetically, this guitar looks its age, but its flaws only add to its vintage appeal. There are small nicks, dings, and scratches throughout, as well as absolutely beautiful weather checking throughout the body and on the headstock. There are a few cracks in the body: one on the top side of the upper left bout stemming from the neck joint, one right down the center of the body, and a finish crack heading south from the low end of the left Fhole.
